Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our dedicated management accounts team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to take the next step in their career, focusing on delivering high-quality management information and financial insight to our clients. You will work as part of a small, collaborative team, preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts, assisting with bookkeeping, budgeting, and forecasting, and helping clients understand their financial performance to support business decision-making
Key responsibilities:
Management Accounts & Client Support:
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients.
- Carry out bookkeeping duties, including maintaining accurate accounting records, processing transactions, and reconciling accounts.
- Provide meaningful financial analysis, variance reporting, and commentary to support client understanding and planning.
- Assist in preparing budgets, cashflow forecasts, and financial projections.
- Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Liaise directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and present financial results clearly and confidently.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting for clients.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
Teamwork & Development:
- Work closely with directors and other team members to deliver consistent, high-quality management reporting.
- Support and mentor junior staff within the management accounts team.
- Participate in internal projects to develop reporting templates, improve processes, and enhance service delivery.
- Take an active role in your own professional development and progression within the firm.
Key Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent (will consider candidates from newly qualified to multiple year’s PQE).
- Experience in preparing management accounts and performing bookkeeping within an accountancy practice or industry environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and explain financial information.
- Good working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building client relationships and collaborating within a small team.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
