Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant to join our audit and accounts team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to build on their training experience and take the next step in their career. You will work closely with managers and directors, assisting with audits, accounts preparation, and tax compliance for a varied portfolio of clients. The role offers significant development potential towards future management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Work & Assignments:
- Prepare statutory financial statements and management accounts for limited companies, directorships, and sole traders.
- Assist in the planning and execution of audit assignments across a diverse client base.
- Prepare corporation tax computations and personal tax returns.
- Support clients with day-to-day queries and develop strong working relationships.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure assignments are completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
Training & Team Development:
- Work closely with managers and directors, gaining exposure to a wide range of clients and technical areas.
- Develop audit and accounting knowledge through on-the-job experience and ongoing training.
- Supervise and support trainees where appropriate, reviewing their work and providing feedback.
- Take an active role in your own professional development and contribute to team learning.
Key Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (newly qualified or up to 3 years post qualification experience).
- Experience within an accountancy practice, including exposure to audit assignments.
- Sound technical understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proficient in accounting and audit software packages and Microsoft Office applications.
