Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and motivated AAT trainee accountant to join our team. This role offers a blend of practical experience and study support under the apprenticeship scheme toward completing the AAT qualification. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of accounting, tax and audit tasks, working alongside experienced professionals to build a strong foundation in accountancy.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping and management accounts:

  • Maintain accurate accounting records using accounting software such as Xero.
  • Assist in preparing management accounts.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting VAT returns.

Accounts and Tax Compliance:

  • Assist in preparing annual accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, individuals and limited companies.

Audit and Assurance:

  • Participate in audit and assurance assignments for a variety of clients, including planning, testing, and reporting.
  • Work on-site with clients, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and maintaining professionalism.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with other office duties as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a professional environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team player with a professional attitude.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • 3 A levels at grade A*/A.
  • 6 GCSEs at grades 7 or above including Mathematics and English Language.
