Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and motivated audit and accounts manager to join our team. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, ranging from businesses to individuals, providing high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services. In addition, they will take on audit management responsibilities, overseeing audit engagements and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role includes supporting the professional development of junior team members and has significant career progression opportunities attached.

Key Responsibilities:

Assignment and Client Management:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and deadlines are met.
  • Prepare statutory accounts, management accounts, and personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Provide tailored advisory services to clients on financial and tax matters, including business planning and compliance.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee statutory audits for a range of clients, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Review and finalise audit files, identifying key risks and ensuring appropriate responses.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve audit queries efficiently and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Monitor budgets and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex audit issues to team members.

Training & Team Development:

  • Mentor and train junior team members, fostering their technical skills and professional growth.
  • Review the work of junior staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Act as a point of contact for audit-related technical queries within the team.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA).
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience within an accountancy practice, with significant audit exposure.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, accounting standards, and tax compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end audit engagements, including planning, execution, and review.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing client relationships and team collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in training or mentoring team members.
  • Proficient in audit and accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
